- Maintenance of general facility systems (building wiring, lighting, garage doors, etc.) is performed in a timely manner to assure a safe and functional work environment.
- Maintenance of process control equipment (instrumentation, controllers, PLC systems, PC systems, etc.) is performed in a timely manner to assure a safe and functional work environment
- All operating procedures associated with assigned maintenance tasks are signed off on; The procedure sign off indicates the technician is familiar with the overall procedure and trained on the necessary steps to facilitate the correct and safe return of equipment to service or production after maintenance
- Communication concerning maintenance issues is accurate and reliable; Timely notification to the appropriate MPZ personnel of maintenance activities that effect their processes and equipment
- All maintenance and service record information is accurately recorded in the proper logs and kept current
Education & Experience
- High school graduate or equivalent
Electrical trades degree
1-3 years of industrial maintenance experience
Skills
- Experience with high voltage and control voltage applications
Experience with process instruments and control devices in industrial applications
Familiarity with PLC/PAC Systems for process control
Familiarity with PC systems and test instruments for industrial applications
Familiarity with instrumentation calibration methods and procedures
Skilled in the use of electrical, mechanical and plumbing tools/materials - Strong interpersonal, teaming, and problem-solving skills.
- Work effectively with other members of Coherent Corp.
Working Conditions
- Daylight shift pattern under normal circumstances; Transition to a multiple-shift rotation will occur when department needs dictate
Facility includes separate locations and multiple production areas
Maintenance of process and support systems/equipment that involve the use of toxic substances requiring significant attention to detail
Exposure to dust, fumes, heat, noise and cold
Job requires working above grade with proper use of step or extension ladders and different types of powered man lifts.
Physical Requirements
- Requires a high concentration level with attention to details for routine operation much of the time
Required to perform a plurality of tasks
Required to implement the Integrated Contingency Plan and MPZ Department Standard Operating Procedures during a variety of First Responder incidents, events or situations
Safety Requirements
All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. Corporate EHS standards.

Keeps all pertinent maintenance records and associated paperwork up to date; Performs MPZ Department special projects and activities, as assigned, in order to sustain operational efficiency and/or product quality improvement
