Travel: 30% - Domestic and International: Japan for Meetings, Technical observations and hands-on work after 3 months of hire
Shift: 7:30am- 10 hour shift - weekend and holiday work may be required

Job Summary:
The Production Engineering Battery Department is seeking a passionate and highly motivated Maintenance Engineering Technician for their facility in Liberty, NC. This role will be responsible for executing the North American machine set-up personnel, increasing Operation Availability (OA) through continuous improvement, and problem-solving technical issues. The position will also support the Battery department's objective to execute Capital Projects from planning through Start of Production.
Job Responsibilities:
- Test and repair electrical equipment or systems involving circuits, relay logic, wiring, motors, and servo drives.
- Write, program, troubleshoot, modify, and repair programmable logic controllers, robotics, cameras, and other electronic equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair safety systems, machine components, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Plan and execute machine integration into mass production, including leveling, adjustment, and quality confirmation for assigned work areas.
- Perform basic administrative tasks, including documentation of work performed.
- Problem-solve and continuously improve safety, quality, and productivity.
- Develop denwacho (detailed schedules) for assigned work areas/projects.
- Participate in project planning with Engineering.
- Support machine production trials at vendors and internally.
- Certify the safety of equipment per MMR/MMS (NFPA79 and ISO standards) via "Safety Integrity Check ".
Qualifications:
- Ability to modify or change PLC Logic. Voltage check, meg check and ohm checks
- Robot, Camera and Safety circuit experience
- 3-5 years of industrial experience in maintenance and electrical troubleshooting.
- Strong PLC programming experience.
- Expertise in servo motors troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in electrical and wire troubleshooting.
- Experience with hydraulic or pneumatic troubleshooting and schematic reading.
- Ability to work overtime, holidays, weekends, and during shutdowns.
- Willingness for 30% domestic and international travel, including trips to Japan for meetings, technical observations, and hands-on work after 3 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical associate degree or higher (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in pre-production setup.
- Familiarity with production processes including Standardized Work and Job Instruction Sheets.
- Experience gathering and analyzing quality data from multiple sources.
- New plant or facility startup experience.
- Experience with high-volume production in a clean room environment.
- Can you describe your experience with PLC programming, servo motor troubleshooting, and electrical/wire troubleshooting in an industrial setting? Please provide specific examples of projects or problems you've worked on.
