Position Summary:Under the supervision of department leadership, the Facilities Technician II role is responsible for the general maintenance of Versiti equipment, building and grounds. Ensuring that the facilities and equipment are clean, well-functioning and orderly. This position is expected to fulfill any service request in a timely manner acting independently to analyze problems and implement solutions while actively working with the Facilities team and internal customers Facilities Technician II will be expected to provide insight into projects as the subject matter expert and operate as the lead project manager when assigned.
Responsibilities:- * Performs a variety of hands-on repair and maintenance work in the following areas: buildings, grounds, equipment and environmental safety. * Reviews, understands, and acts accordingly with Versiti policies, equipment guidelines and SOP’s prior to completing tasks. Actively demonstrates the Versiti core values as well as holding others accountable to them. * Uses discretion and professionalism working in and around donors, visitors, and employees to complete work in a timely manner and minimize disruptions to operations. Thoroughly cleans up after the completion of work, leaving the area tidy and orderly. * Performs maintenance and repair of building equipment and grounds in a safe, workmanlike manner. * Develops and maintains accurate and complete maintenance logs, calendars, schedules and any other administrative tools utilized by the department. * Actively participates in improving building and equipment efficiencies by continuously refining practices and procedures and coordinating schedules of work for outside contractors/vendors. * Ability to transition into a project manager role acting as the subject matter expert for small and large-scale projects. Includes providing direction for contractors, ensuring that maintenance schedules are updated and followed appropriately and that the project is completed on time and on budget. * When required this position should be able to backfill for any Technician I responsibilities/duties. * Required to participate in the on-call system to ensure facilities assistance is available twenty-four hours/day, seven days/week to address and resolve any urgent facilities problems.
- Supervisory Responsibilities * This position will act as the lead on specific projects that will require oversite of Versiti personnel and/or outside contractors but does not have any direct supervisory responsibility.

Qualifications:Education
- High School Diploma required
- general education degree (GED) required
- Associate's Degree in related field preferred
Experience
- 1-3 years of Facilities related experience required
- 4-6 years preferred
- Project Manager for a large-scale facilities or equipment related project required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must have strong knowledge of building maintenance operations, service activities; terminology, methods, materials, and equipment used in the maintenance, repair, and construction of building structures and systems; principles and practices of safety management; pertinent local, state, and federal laws, ordinances, codes, and rules. required
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively with donors, volunteers and employees of organization. required
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings, plans, and specifications. required
- Occasional evening and weekend hours and weekly/bi-weekly local and state-wide travel will be required. required
- This person must have the ability to work independently with minimum supervision; multi-task; work with confidential information; and work under high stress or pressure situations and with tight deadlines. required
- This person must be detail-oriented with excellent communication, specifically writing skills, project a professional image, display an exceedingly high level of customer service and organizational skills and be an excellent multi-tasker balancing several service requests and projects at one time across multiple facilities across the state. required
Licenses and Certifications
- Certification and Licensure in areas specific to building maintenance preferred (i.e. electrician, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, etc.). preferred
- Valid State Driver’s License required
Tools and Technology
- Basic computer skills required. required
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products, such as Word, Excel, Outlook. required
- Ability to maintain simple databases, create basic documents and spreadsheets. required
- Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and proficient manner. required
