SUMMARY
The Marathon Martinez Renewable Fuels Facility in Martinez, CA is seeking a Maintenance Foreman. The position is responsible for supervising maintenance craft employees of various disciplines and overseeing facility maintenance, and central shops. Responsible for safe and effective execution of preventive and corrective maintenance work in an environmentally compliant manner. Facilitates the optimal utilization of maintenance resources to support the operation of the facility.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Oversee maintenance craft workers (e.g. civil, HVAC, carpenter, laborer, janitorial) to ensure field/shop maintenance work is efficiently executed in adherence with MPC and industry best practices.
+ Utilize company resources and external contractors and vendors to coordinate facility maintenance, including buildings, roads, fleet vehicles, elevators, truck scales, landscaping, fueling, and transportation.
+ Manage contractor/vendor performance, site safety/training requirements, and annual PO strategies.
+ Promote safe and environmentally compliant work practices. Conduct toolbox huddles and regular safety meetings. Ensure compliance with safety and environmental rules and regulations.
+ Coach and mentor craft employees to improve skills and performance. Ensure team understands performance expectations and monitor work quality and productivity.
+ Communicate daily activities, accomplishments, and concerns to management.
+ Ensure craft personnel are adequately trained for their job assignment. Identify training needs and assist with the development and implementation of craft training programs.
+ Participate in field safety audits and near-miss/incident investigations. Follow up on safety issues until closure and be an active member of safety committees.
+ Assist maintenance planner with development of job plans through technical analysis, field walks, and identification of resource requirements. Help ensure materials comply with engineering standards.
+ Participate in daily meetings with Maintenance and Operations supervision to risk-rank work requests, review the schedule, evaluate priority/break-in work, and identify potential issues with the weekly plan.
+ Resolve barriers to completing planned jobs per established schedule. Assist with cost control, including challenging priority, the need for discretionary work, and managing equipment rentals.
+ Perform work order close-out, backlog reviews, and monitor schedule compliance.
+ Ensure repair documentation is thoroughly completed and help maintain corrective and preventive maintenance records for assigned area.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
+ High school diploma or GED required.
+ Mechanical engineering or construction management degree preferred.
+ Minimum 5 years refinery, petrochemical, or related maintenance craft experience preferred.
+ Supervisory experience in maintenance preferred.
+ Experience reading and comprehending Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s), equipment drawings, isometric sketches, procedures, and Inspection and Test Plans required.
+ Must have strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization.
+ Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
+ Working knowledge of SAP is preferred.
+ Current hours of the position: 9/80 schedule, 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM. Occasional ability to respond to off-hour situations. Periodically support overtime work, weekends, and turnarounds/outages as required.
+ Current valid Drivers License is required
