JOB SUMMARY: Maintenance Lead is responsible for the coordination and control of all technical work and preventative maintenance of the facilities. Responsibility to minimize equipment breakdowns, direct and oversee maintenance employees on repairs, upkeep, design, cost control and preventative maintenance of all plant equipment and facilities. 10 years maintenance experience with three to five years in maintenance management, ideally in fabrication, welding and assembly operations. Must have high level of initiative and self-direction, strong organizational skills and able to communicate at all levels.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Manage maintenance staff for facility; supervise, organize and control the maintenance department's workflow including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and preventive maintenance; set up and manage an organized work order system which prioritizes work.
2. Coordinate work schedules and overall maintenance department to correspond with production priorities and to improve the throughput and uptime of the equipment while improving the quality of the product and efficiency of the plant.
3. Set up and manage preventative maintenance program for the whole facility.
4. Make recommendations on how to improve equipment and processes.
5. Manage continuous improvement to equipment and analysis of improvement projects.
6. Develop maintenance employee's skills and conduct employee evaluations.
7. Purchase spare parts, equipment, tools, fixtures while working to lower overall costs.
8. Responsible for creation and management of spare parts inventory program.
9. Manage external contractors as needed.
10. Must be willing to "get hands dirty" to achieve goals and commitments.
11. Perform other duties and cross-train as required or assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Minimum of HS Diploma with 10 years industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing environment with 3-5 years supervisory experience and preventative maintenance program experience. AA Degree or equivalent from 2-year college or technical school in Industrial Technology or related maintenance field a plus.
2. Knowledge of welding equipment, punch presses, brakes, shears, fabrication equipment, paint equipment.
3. Knowledge of TPM, 5S and lean production methods.
4. Requires the ability to operate forklift and material handling equipment.
5. Knowledge of company procedures for storage, handling and shipment of
6. hazardous waste to comply with government regulations. Training will be
7. included upon assignment to such duties.
8. Basic welding skills.
9. Clean driving record.
10. General working knowledge of all aspects of industrial maintenance. Good
11. mechanical and construction aptitude.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
1. Physical fitness to perform all functions of designated work areas. This includes small and large tool use, full arm and leg range of motion, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, work in awkward positions, climb and work in high places, work on concrete surfaces all day, talk and hear.
2. Employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 35#, frequently lift and/or move up to 70#.
3. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Shift: 5am-3:30pm M-F, 5am-11am some Saturdays
