Job Description
MISSION / SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Manager will provide strategic and tactical leadership to achieve key Reliability objectives in safety, environmental compliance, production, reliability, precision maintenance, and cost. The successful candidate will have good command skill, excellent troubleshooting abilities, very good team building and coaching skills, and will manage through systems. They must have high expectations around all the key components of a world class maintenance organization. The candidate will have good electrical knowledge and skills from low voltage controls to high voltage power distribution. Knowledge and high expectations around electrical safety and NFPA70E is a requirement.
JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Drive safety to Zero injuries and support mill transition to safety focused culture.
- Drive NFPA 70E and all aspects of the electrical safety program
- Support and drive the mills safety AIP process
- Build skilled organization with confidence to make decisions at the lowest level.
- Develop, implement and manage robust reliability training program
- Develop and drive adherence to improved housekeeping standards
- Embrace and drive World Class Maintenance initiatives: Planning and Scheduling, Reliability, and employee performance.
- Drive improvement of productivity and reliability of all areas by focusing on capital utilization, improved training, and maintenance work systems.
- Drive RCFA and A3 processes to eliminate repeat failures
- Develop and maintain five-year plan that supports Mill, Division, and Company vision
- Oversee and require involvement in capital process and capital projects to insure proper return on spending.
- Ensure spare parts are set up, PMs and PDM routes / rounds on all new systems
- Plan annual spending for the Reliability department and manage to the set budgets to meet annual goals.
- Support and drive the countermeasure / T-card system
- Develop and drive adherence to SOPs and TCCs for effective troubleshooting, safety, performance, and KPI attainment.
- FIT – total maintenance performance: planning & scheduling, optimization of man hours, reduce contractor reliance
- Successfully manage day-to-day and strategic Issues/Maintenance (What, Who, When)
- Other duties as assigned
SCHEDULE DEMANDS:
- General schedule is an 8-hour M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
- Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail.
Qualifications
BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:
- Five (5) years’ experience in a Reliability management role
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- SAP experience a plus
- Successful candidate will have the aspiration to advance to roles of greater influence and responsibility
EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:
- BE Engineering preferred (or equivalent demonstrated electrical maintenance experience)
- Reliability Maintenance Experience preferred / Supervisory experience required – Minimum 5 years
