About the Job
Overview:
Diagnoses, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintainselectrical and mechanical machinery and equipment to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
Responsibilities:- Ensures that equipment is on the preventative maintenance program, schedules are valid, thorough, and completed according to the system schedule.
- Establish standards and policies for installation, modification, testing, operating procedures, inspection and maintenance of equipment according to engineering principles and safety regulations.
- Programs, troubleshoots, and maintains PLCs (programmable logic controllers) and other forms of industrial automation.
- Plans, coordinates, and schedules all predictive and preventative maintenance programs for structures, utilities, and equipment.
- Provides technical support to other departments regarding process and/or equipment changes.
- Installs wiring circuits, switches, controls, and other electronic devices in accordance with specifications.
- Diagnoses mechanical and electrical problems and makes necessary repairs in a timely fashion to reduce downtime.
- Management of spare parts, material, and inventories.
- Identifies areas where operations can be improved and made more efficient. Carries out solutions to repair or upgrade equipment for improved operations.
- Initiates purchase orders for parts and machines.
- Practices lock out/tag out safety procedures and utilizes Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adheres to all safety and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and guidelines.
- Perform all other maintenance manager duties and responsibilities.
Job Skills Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
- Strong knowledge of electromechanical codes, standards, and safety practices.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to the highest quality workmanship.
- Physical stamina to work in various positions for extended periods.
- Advance knowledge of pneumatic, wiring, and hydraulic systems.
Educational Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent education.
Experience Requirements
- 5 to 10 years professional maintenance experience in the manufacturing industry.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Some physical demand. Often lifts light to heavy-weight material. Frequent lifting/moving average weight (up to 50 lbs/11-27 kgs) material.
- Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling, and/or reaching over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
- Ability to operate motorized vehicles over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
- Ability to stand and / or walk constantly over a full work shift on concrete (8-12 hours).
- May be exposed to noise levels for which hearing protection must be worn over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
- Assists Plant Manager in off-hours maintenance calls as needed.
