Zildjian is looking for a talented Machinist to join our Maintenance Team in Norwell, MA.
The Manual Machinist Technician works individuals across multiple departments and a wide variety of equipment to keep our production process operating smoothly and consistently. Success in this position requires excellent problem-solving skills and a strong aptitude for learning new skills and systems.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Proficient at using a wide range of machine shop equipment.
- Proficient in conventional Machining.
- Experience with Blueprint reading, hydraulic and Pneumatic systems.
- Proficient at working from complex machine diagrams and manuals.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
- Programming and electrical strengths.
- Experience with shop mathematics together with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables, various types of precision measuring instruments and/or the training generally applicable in a particular or specialized occupation.
- Fabrication of machine parts without a print (duplicating).
- Check systems functionality by running diagnostic tests.
- Utilize power and hand tools to install new equipment and replace defective parts.
- Detect malfunctions through observation (sound or visual).
- Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on both complex and simple mechanical systems.
- Compliance with all OSHA regulations and company established safety policies.
Requirements:
- High School diploma required. Experience or training from a vocational school or as an apprentice or journeyman preferred. Use of advanced mathematics.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in machining and troubleshooting with general machine shop skills.
- Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as the ability to complete company specific safety training.
- Must be able to work independently as well as in a team.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS and/or PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Required to walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls: reach with hands and arms; balance; talk or hear.
- Employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is/or may be exposed to dust, dirt, heat, fumes, cold, noise, vibration, water, oil etc but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable.
- Employee will also be required to wear safety glasses and/or safety gloves.
