At Ethos Biosciences, we are a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) that offers private label manufacturing to many of the biggest life science and diagnostic companies around the world. Our core competencies are immunoassays (ELISA/Lateral Flow) as well as specialty and high volume diagnostic stains, buffers, and reagents. Our laboratories, manufacturing suites, and warehouse areas are purpose built to accommodate these specialty manufacturing and development operations. We occupy a newly built, state of the art, 126,000ft2 stand-alone building in Logan Township, NJ. We require an experienced Plant Mechanic to support our growing operations and customer base. We're hiring a Plant Mechanic that will be responsible for setup, troubleshooting, cleaning and preventative maintenance activities on equipment such as tube filler, single and multihead liquid fillers, labelers, sealers, inkjet printers, cappers, and related mixing/manufacturing equipment, etc. This role uses skilled trade expertise to maintain equipment, perform changeover activities and identify improvement opportunities to minimize equipment downtime, improve safety, quality and production efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Complete all scheduled packaging manufacturing/packaging preventative maintenance on time and ensure properly documented
Complete process paperwork using Good Documentation Practices as it relates to manufacturing activities
Demonstrate competency with setup and troubleshooting of all packaging equipment, tube fillers, packet fillers, single and multihead liquid fillers, labelers, sealers, inkjet printers, etc. Includes knowing where manuals are kept, using internet sources to research spare parts and technical assistance, and placing purchasing requisitions in the ERP system.
Demonstrate proficiency with performing safety protocols including PPE, LOTO, SWP, NFPA 70E etc.
Must be able to adhere to all safety procedures and rules without compromise. This includes working safety in Class 1, Division 1 (flammable/ignitable areas). Must comply with all grounding and bonding procedures.
Actively participate in 5S activities with Maintenance and Packaging departments including spare parts and inventory
Complete all assigned work orders properly the first time and in a timely manner. Operate with a sense of urgency.
Engage with operators, supervision, and management on a daily basis with a proactive, positive, cando attitude providing accurate and timely feedback on status of work. Communicate in written and verbal format daily to supervisor and other mechanic(s) on status of work and any followup that may be needed
Be able to periodically work in a Clean Room environment wearing all necessary PPE
Remain flexible and energetic to support department and organizational needs as they may change
Provide training as necessary to operators and other mechanics on basic equipment adjustments, operation, and minor maintenance such as changing label rolls, etc
This role will require the candidate to be flexible and fill in as a production associate as needed per production requirements
HS diploma or the equivalent
Post High School technical degree or certification preferred
5 years of demonstrated, equipment maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong mechanical abilities required.
Strong electrical troubleshooting capabilities desired
