Responsibilities:
As a Maintenance Mechanic, your key duties will include:
1. Conducting regular inspections of machinery and equipment to identify and rectify any issues before they escalate.
2. Performing preventative maintenance tasks on machinery, equipment, and systems to ensure their longevity and efficient operation.
3. Repairing and maintaining hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
4. Utilizing a range of hand and power tools to carry out repairs and maintenance tasks.
5. Welding and fabricating parts as required.
6. Troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues with conveyor systems and other industrial equipment.
7. Performing plumbing repairs and maintenance as needed.
8. Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
9. Documenting all maintenance and repair work for record-keeping and future reference.
10. Collaborating with the wider team to optimize machinery performance and contribute to the achievement of manufacturing goals.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in machinery maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
2. Proven experience in welding, repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
3. Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
4. Experience in maintaining and repairing conveyor systems and other industrial equipment.
5. Familiarity with plumbing systems and the ability to carry out plumbing repairs and maintenance.
6. Excellent problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
7. A strong commitment to safety, with knowledge of relevant safety regulations and procedures.
8. The ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently.
9. Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly and effectively convey information to colleagues and management.
10. A high school diploma or equivalent. A relevant certification or qualification in a mechanical field would be advantageous.
