The Maintenance Operator position earns competitive pay of $12.99/hr. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MAINTENANCE OPERATOR
As a Maintenance Operator, you spend your day working on maintenance on proper operation of pumps, motors and pumping station. Work involves operating a variety of medium equipment and maintain maintenance and repair records. Your job is essential to the city, and you often recommend improvements for energy efficient motors, large repairs, lighting and other components. You are constantly on your toes and ready for any new and unexpected challenges that may arise in the city. You enjoy being helpful and have no problem aiding and support to other divisions within the department as needed. The city needs someone like you with skills in maintenance, operation and you finding genuine enjoyment in what you do!
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A MAINTENANCE OPERATOR
- High school diploma, GED or equivalency
- Educational Substitute: Related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Requires under and including one (1) year experience working in a surface water treatment plant, and or wastewater treatment plant.
- Must have a current valid class "B" CDL driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record.
- Achieve TCEQ Class "D" Surface Water License (Water Plant) or Wastewater Plant License within first (1) year of employment.
- Achieve TCEQ Class "C" Surface Water License (Water Plant) or Wastewater Plant License within three (3) year of employment.
