Job Summary
The Maintenance Planner expedites the flow of work and materials within the maintenance department according to work orders and the production schedule. Their duties include reviewing and distribution of work orders, and PM schedules; conferring with department supervisors to determine progress of work and completion dates; and compiling reports on progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and maintenance problems.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities

- Assist with reviewing documents, materials, products, and monitor work processes, in order to assess completeness, accuracy and conformance to standards and specifications.
- Collaborate with department supervisors and other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes to processes.
- Communicate with established personnel, vendors, and customers to coordinate maintenance activities and resolve complaints or eliminate delays.
- Record maintenance data, including work orders, spare parts used and missed deadlines.
- Creates and maintains tracking spreadsheets to keep track of inventory and repeat trends on maintenance issues.
- Requisitions and maintains inventories of material and supplies necessary to meet maintenance demands.
- Schedules and checks on progress for work orders in CMMS.
- Compiles reports from CMMS to track trends / work efficiency.
- Maintains the Trailer/Truck/Fork Lift/other equipment Preventative Maintenance Programs, including, but not limited to, contacting vendors and corporate Darling personnel to resolve issues.
- Drop off / Pick up supplies/repairs to local vendors as needed (MVR permission required)
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must have demonstrated experience working in Microsoft Excel to manage data, create spreadsheets, generate reports, charts, etc.
- Minimum of 2+ years in a production or maintenance environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Inventory experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills and problem solving.
- Ability to multitask, set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrates time management skills.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs.
- Ability to fax, copy and scan documents.
Physical Demands
- Frequently lifts up to 15 lbs, occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent walking, standing, stooping, bending, climbing, pulling, pushing and crawling.
- Frequently required to sit for extended periods.
Work Environment
Mostly office, however, could be outside in all types of weather. Hot and humid in plant. In and around and working with moving parts and equipment.
