About the role:
This position is accountable for supervising maintenance resources in an assigned area in alignment with the Alcoa Massena maintenance strategy of providing a safe, efficient, and high-quality service to the customer. Focus is on reducing maintenance costs, fast repair times when equipment has failed and continuous problem solving.
The key responsibilities are:
- Ensure all work is performed in a safe manner and that all work areas are maintained to meet or exceed all safety and environmental rules
- Supports Key Performance Indicators as defined by local leadership and Corporate Reliability Excellence initiatives
- Assists coordination of the planned and unplanned activities through active participation in the daily execution and department scheduling meetings.
- Monitor activities of bargaining unit employees and identify and provide opportunities to improve their skills and knowledge
- Identify and implement continuous improvement activities involving people, equipment, and processes
- Actively supervising and developing the maintenance team members to ensure effective communication across shifts, and with the operations teams
- Maintain close liaison with production, support groups, engineers, and other crew leaders
What you can bring to the role:
- A minimum of a technical associate degree or State certification stating journey person status in a mechanical or electrical trade and five years of work-related experience
- Strong organizational and communications skills
- Solid troubleshooting skills
- Experience using a CMMS
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products

Base salary: $70,000 - $105,000 USD annually
Total rewards packages listed, including base salary and bonus eligibility, applies to US based applicants only. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on a range of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies in conjunction with multiple components of the Employee Total Rewards Package. Alcoa reserves the right to change plans at its discretion.

Our Massena facility in New York State, established in 1902, is home to the longest continuously operating smelter in the world. Located on the St. Lawrence River, Massena, NY is the center for commercial, industrial, and manufacturing success in St. Lawrence County.
