Overview
We are seeking a proactive Project Coordinator to join our maintenance team at our facility located in Chicago, IL, 60609. As a Project Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful and efficient operation of our new 2nd shift. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Provide back-up technical support for maintenance manager and production. This is a hands-on job and
requires extensive experience in mechanical, electrical and automation fundamentals in an industrial
environment or field service role to be successful. NOTE: Depending on the task being performed, wearing
personal protective equipment is mandatory.
Responsibilities
• Analyzes and resolves production and facility challenges, or assists employees in solving production
problems.
• Assists with organizing, coordinating, and implementing various sections of maintenance and engineering
projects both large and small.
• Evaluates production processes for potential improvements in efficiency, ergonomics and safety.
• Schedules activities to observe priority of interest. Effectively communicates with production managements
to determine when production related items should be addressed.
• Trains staff and provides feedback to the supervisor.
• Reviews and evaluates results of tests.
• Assists with maintaining computerized maintenance management work orders and assigns tasks as needed.
• Assists with maintaining crib inventory.
• Prepares reports on progress and recommends the addition, expansion or discontinuance of projects.
• Does all other duties as assigned including line/machinery set-up.
Qualifications
- A combination of over four years of directly related training and/or experience is typically required for carrying out the responsibilities for this job.
- High School Diploma or Trade School Certificate with a minimum of six months of related mechanical/electrical experience preferred
- Must be familiar with the general industrial equipment
- Ability to make quick, accurate repairs to machinery and/or work with an outside contractor as directed by the Maintenance Manager
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical drawings, schemes and procedure manuals
- Ability to speak English
- Ability to understand trigonometry and geometry as necessary
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work well under pressure.
