About the Job
The Engineering Project Manager provides a high level of experience and expertise with all phases of project planning and implementation. He or she assumes responsibilities over multiple projects of various scales, leading multi-functional teams, actively collaborating with management, and providing strategic direction across all project initiatives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist Management in developing multi-year strategies for capital spend and budget forecasting.
Develop and gain alignment on the annual capital facilities budget.
Follow and develop all capital projects so that they comply with the BeamSuntory Design Review process.
Confirm that project design standards are such that projects at the facility meet all applicable code, ADA, safety and health standards.
Play a leading role in the selection of consultants and engineers to undertake various projects.
Secure contracts with reliable consultants, engineers, contractors and service providers.
Provide effective capital project management through the development of scope of work documents for projects and soliciting bids to obtain the highest quality and cost combination value.
Provide project oversight for construction and renovation projects including the design, construction, renovation and remodeling of plant infrastructure.
Oversees the preparation of status reports with cost tracking and evaluates the performance of staff and contractors through periodic inspections and direct daily supervision.
Provide regular communication of project schedules, updates, and completion status of maintenance and capital projects.
Maintain detailed, current, and accurate project files and records including tracking of all projects, invoice management and accounting in compliance with approved budgets.
Reviews and authorizes payment of invoices develops contract documentation, attends pre-bid and pre-construction meetings, manages the monitoring and the quality of work.
Assist the stores and purchasing functions to ensure materials are on hand and in sufficient quantities to support project activities.
Conducts performance evaluations of contractors and consultants.
Manage and support disaster preparedness and disaster response to property damage including damages from fires, hurricanes, and other natural or man-made disasters.
Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas utilizing 5S methodology.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Facility Management, Construction Science, Project Management or related field and at least 6 years proven experience or: Associates degree in Engineering or related field and at least 10 years proven experience.
Completion of facility management, construction science, project management apprenticeship and/or 4-6 years of relevant experience, or accredited education, training or an equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
Degrees must be from an accredited institution.
A certification from the international Facilities Management Association, a plus.
Must be familiar with the requirements of maintaining ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSA 18001 standards.
