Maintenance Mechanic or E & I Technician - Southport, NC
This is a full-time, hourly position.
Position Summary:
As a Maintenance Mechanic you will be responsible for reliability, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all plant equipment. A mechanic will spend most of their time working with tools on critical equipment and will become knowledgeable of and follow all GMPs and applicable SOPs. 24/7 support of the plant is required when needed. This position reports to the Maintenance Superintendent.
OR
The E&I Technician works as part of the maintenance team to support plant operations and ensure equipment availability and proper functioning. The E&I Technician must be knowledgeable of and follow GMPs and all applicable SOPs. E&I Technicians are required to work closely with operators, mechanics and management to provide good customer service. E&I Technicians are required to trouble shoot electrical and electronic systems to resolve problems encountered during operation and restore the system to an operational state.
Job Responsibilities:
+ In this position, you will perform and develop preventive and predictive maintenance for new and existing equipment, (centrifuges, centrifugal pumps, turbines, compressors rotary vacuum filters, vacuum pumps, etc.)
+ Assist fellow mechanics and technicians as required functioning equally well as a team member or team lead
+ Collaborate with maintenance support and stock room personnel to ensure all parts transactions are properly documented
+ Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and restoring operation
+ Provide support with the checkout and startup of new equipment
+ Participate on plant reliability initiatives and teams to perform root cause analysis of failures
+ Work closely with operators and management
+ Complete Work Order documentation as identified
+ Promote housekeeping in work areas to promote a safe working environment
+ Transport equipment, machines and parts using fork lifts, pallet jacks etc. in safe manners
+ Follow HAZMAT and MSDS guidelines in handling hazardous materials.
OR
+ Participates in ADM safety programs
+ Troubleshoots equipment breakdowns and restores operation
+ Conducts routine maintenance and troubleshooting of control systems in both the process and utilities areas
+ Performs preventive maintenance for all equipment
+ Calibrates instruments, per SOP, as required
+ Works with maintenance support and stock room personnel to ensure all parts transactions are properly documented
+ Participates on teams to perform root cause analysis of failures.
+ Assists with checkout and startup of new equipment
+ Communicates equipment details effectively with other maintenance, process and engineering personnel
+ Assists the Maintenance Planner by providing feedback on PM (Preventive Maintenance) frequency and job steps
+ Uses the Maximo CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to track work orders, purchase parts and track time
+ Makes recommendations to supervisors regarding spare parts inventory
+ Assists with identifying and standardizing parts between departments
+ Works with departments on maintenance reliability issues including motors, valves, instruments, controls, controllers, and DCS systems
+ Communicates with production workers regarding maintenance jobs including status, repairs and follow up review
+ Conducts work activities in an environmentally sound manner by being committed to the protection of the environment
+ Follows all OSHA (Occupational Health and Safety Administration), NFPA (National Fire Protection Agency), NEC (National Electrical Code) and plant safety procedures, and provide feedback when updates or changes need to be made
+ Possesses a 'hands-on' attitude and is willing to assist fellow maintenance team members with repairs as needed
+ Promotes the ADM Way and Core Values
+ Must have a demonstrated history of safe work behavior and a sincere desire to follow and improve upon safety policies and procedures
Job Requirements:
+ Industrial mechanical maintenance background
+ Minimum of 4 years’ experience
+ High School diploma or equivalent Technical degree is desired
+ Basic competency in office applications such as MS Office
+ Ability to learn support systems such as Maximo with minimal individualized training
+ Experience in any of the following areas is a plus; mechanical diagnosis, repair, stick and tig welding, laser alignment, rigging and ultrasonic leak detection
+ Capable of reading and understanding equipment drawings, user manuals, and computerized data archives
+ Manually lift up to 50 pounds intermittently. Heavier parts are lifted using other methods
+ Ability to climb stairs, perform some heavy lifting, sit or stand for long periods, work at heights, bending and kneeling
+ Willingness to work shift work and overtime as required
+ Confirmed ability to work safely
+ Focus on following and improving safety policies and procedures in all aspects of work
+ Ability to work with water soluble and oil based lubricants
OR
+ Electrical/instrumentation background, with a minimum of a 2 year technical degree or 5 years of experience in an industrial environment
+ Proficiency in mechanical diagnosis and repair, computer hardware and software
+ Mechanical aptitude is essential
+ Should be qualified to work on all electrical equipment from 24VDC to 13.2 KV
+ Must be able to read and understand electrical drawings, instrument indexes and computerized data archives
+ Must be able to operate specialized computer interfaces as required for diagnosis and troubleshooting
+ Experience with industrial packaging/warehouse equipment and control systems a plus
+ Must have a basic competency in office applications such as MS Office, and must be able to learn support systems such as Maximo with minimal individualized training
+ Must be able to climb stairs, perform some lifting, sit or stand for long periods, work at heights, bending, kneeling, and be able to be respirator qualified
+ Must be able to work in all environmental conditions, including temperature extreme
+ Must be willing to work on shifts or overtime as required
