Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Plant Manager, responsible for leading and developing high performance work teams that specialize in the installation, operation and repair of machinery used in production. Also, responsible for managing quality performance, cost parameters, and customer service for internal customers. Leads others on off shifts.
Starting pay:
$80,000 or based on experience
Responsibilities:
- Assists and directs the implementation of design modifications, repair of production equipment, mechanical safety installations and maintenance of other mechanical devices within the plant.
- Oversee production processes, installation of new equipment and repair of mechanically functioning equipment, including boilers, air compressors, refrigeration, wastewater treatment, process equipment and controls.
- Works cross-functionally to improve processes within the organization.
- Supervises the day-to-day operations of a group of employees to assure a smooth workflow. Assigns, monitors, and reviews the progress and accuracy of assigned work.
- Estimates personnel needs and ensures adequate staffing to meet pre-established completion dates.
- Handles unusual or difficult inquiries / situations through direct personal action or refers to the appropriate individual.
- Responsible for training and development of subordinate staff, schedules and approves overtime, takes disciplinary actions, as necessary; addresses complaints and resolves issues.
Education / Experience (Required)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Technical discipline plus 2 years of technical production / operations leadership experience OR Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of military operations and leadership experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility OR High School Diploma and 7 plus years of technical production / operations or technical maintenance leadership experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- Experience in relevant Feed/Food Manufacturing or Industrial Maintenance Operations
- The individual will be responsible for training and development of subordinate staff.
- Supervisory, communication, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of MS Office software required - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience in pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems and leading continuous improvement initiatives.

- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to support a up to a 24/7 manufacturing business.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and humid conditions and moving mechanical parts.
The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud. Nothing in this job description restricts the management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.
Hours: M-F day shift will be standard, but must be able to work extended hours. Weekend and holiday hours may be required based on production's needs.
