Job Summary
To supervise and assist in the continual upkeep, maintenance, effective operation and improvement of the facilities and manufacturing equipment in a safe and cost-effective manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the maintenance of the facility at a fully operational level. This includes but is not limited to the HVAC, physical structure, plumbing, grounds, alarms, fire sprinklers, structures, forklifts, vehicles, equipment moves, 5-S system, housekeeping, mopping, cleaning and other janitorial tasks as assigned.
- Inspect facilities periodically to determine problems and necessary maintenance.
- Prepares daily-, weekly- and monthly schedules and allocates work for the maintenance crew.
- Trains and supervises maintenance and facilities technicians.
- Coordinates the installation, maintenance, de-installation and repair of equipment and building needs.
- Prepare purchase requisitions and capex requests as needed.
- Maintain, diagnose, trouble-shoot and repair CNC mills, CNC lathes, Blanchard- and surface grinders.
- Maintain activities in facilities software system using a PC and tablet.
- Maintain a schedule of planned activities to ensure on time delivery of these actions.
- Maintain the material inventory & storage, recycling program & E-waste programs.
- Troubleshoots and repairs a variety of equipment and facilities systems.
- Ensure the facility is complaint with OSHA/Cal-OSHA regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- 2 years proven experience in a facility/maintenance leadership role.
- Excellent planning, leadership and communication skills.
- Technical knowledge of building systems (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, etc.)
- Understanding of OSHA/Cal-OSHA regulations and good safety practices.
- Use diagnostic and test equipment including voltage meters, dial indicators, micrometers, calipers and other precision measuring equipment to analyze, evaluate problems and propose repair solutions.
- Have strong verbal and written English communication skills; ability to work from written and verbal instructions.
- Detail oriented and able to multi-task; ability to organize work to optimize efficiency.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings manuals and directions.
- Working knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Working knowledge of machine control systems, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams and control systems, and power transmission systems.
- Knowledge and expertise in the use manual lathes, mills, drill presses, and many other tools utilized in a machine shop environment.
- Knowledge of industrial electrical, machine control systems, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams and control systems, and power transmission systems (belt and chain drive systems)
- Electrical Power - Knowledge of electrical wiring codes and systems, voltages AC/DC., and amperages. The proper use of electrical test and diagnostic procedures.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems up to 480v, 3 phase.
- Metal Fabrication - Knowledge and expertise in the use of metal shears, brakes, punches, acetylene torch, band saw, chisels and hammers utilized in the metal fabrication or maintenance shop-Installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
Preferred Skills
Wide experience with multiple power and hand tools, ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical applications. Strong fabricating skills.
Experience Requirements
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing environment in a similar position
Education Requirements
High School Diploma, G.E.D. or five (5) years’ work experience plus two (2) years related technical training program/military technical training.
Physical Requirements
- Manual Dexterity - The ability to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects and perform maintenance tasks.
- Correctable Vision and Hearing.
- Ability to stand/walk and perform physical labor for most of the working shift. Pull, push, squat. etc. to accomplish repairs.
- Intermittently lift loads of up to 50 pounds.
