About the Job
Position Overview
Reporting to the Sr Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading, coaching, and developing a team of skilled mechanics and electricians who maintain the production lines, continuously improve the safety, quality, efficiency, cost and participate on continuous Improvement teams (CI) across all Gehl Foods facilitates.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in safety, quality, OEE, and cost improvement opportunities and initiatives
- Lead and participate in problem solving & project management process with cross functional teams
- Provide team members and internal customers with the tools, parts, certified training, and procedures to be successful.
- Coordinate system breakdown priorities with production for maintenance team members.
- Support the Maintenance Planning/Scheduling process with CM & PM work order assigning to the maintenance team
- Audit the work of the Maintenance team; recognizing good work and coaching improvement opportunities.
- Seek feedback from internal customers on team members and continuously develop team to meet high standards.
- Manage team member’s time schedules, PTO schedules, and weekend rotation.
- Lead and participate in various continuous improvement projects and kaizen activities.
- Support Manufacturing, Technical Services, and Quality by supporting various work requests delivered though the CMMS.
- Coach and develop team members for continual growth, increased responsibility, and overall goal achievement
- Communicate, and deliver on business, team, and line of sight goals, KPIs, milestones, and actions.
- Ensure that required competencies to carry out these job functions affecting product legality, safety and quality are met in accordance with the Quality Policy and Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standard.
- Ensure compliance with corporate/plant safety standards and with applicable regulatory requirements while following the company’s Safe Quality Foods (SQF) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or progressive work experience in addition to experience below
- 5+ Years of related experience leading, coaching, and developing individuals and teams
- Demonstrated excellent management, collaboration, organizational and leadership skills required
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated negotiation, analytical and organizational skills
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), and CMMS systems
- Ability to problem solve and deal with a variety of complex improvement opportunities
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity.
- Ability and means to travel if needed; must possess a valid driver’s license and proof of valid insurance including liability and property damage coverage
Preferred Qualifications
- LOTO, fork lift, arc flash, fall protection, and any other applicable safety program completion
- Knowledge of Infor EAM CMMS system
- Knowledge/Experience with Food, packaging, machining, or assembly manufacturing processes
- Have the physical ability to occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds, reach overhead, climb, squat/bend/kneel, frequently stand, walk/move about, and regularly sit
