DUTIES
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for planning and carrying out the activities of the Maintenance Department including safety and equipment, building, and grounds maintenance. Maintenance Supervisor is a working manager and must be hands on. Position serves as an active member of the facility interdisciplinary team.
Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates maintenance operations, programs and activities.
Ensures facility is in compliance with applicable building codes.
Maintains fire evacuation, disaster plans, and MSDS documentation and conducts appropriate employee training.
Conducts facility tours and safety education for all new hires.
Responsible for facility safety compliance.
Ensures building and equipment meet state, federal, and healthcare regulatory compliance.
Maintains positive and professional communication with residents, families, and staff.
Creates an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the facility.
Maintains 24/7 availability for maintenance related facility emergencies.
Responsible for ordering maintenance related facility supplies and equipment.
Responsible for adhering to maintenance department budget.
Responsible for electronic tracking of purchase orders and inventory.
SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of one (1) year experience in maintenance-related capacity
Knowledgeable of current fire, safety, and building code regulatory compliance.
Previous experience working in a long-term care or healthcare facility is strongly preferred.
Acceptable computer skills.
Ability to address issues with a sense of urgency.
Must be able to bend/stoop, squat/crouch/kneel, crawl, reach, balance, push and pull up to 7.5 hours per day.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and 51 t o 100 pounds with assistance.
Excellent judgment and follow-through skills.
Available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week to meet facility needs.
High school graduate preferred; technical or vocational education preferred.
Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations
Must meet health assessment requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
