About the Job
Responsibilities:
- Directs workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
- Supervises work assignment and personnel performance of staff technicians; hires, trains, coaches, and evaluates staff.
- Assists workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
- Directs workers engaged in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.
- Requisitions and keeps a supply of spare parts.
- Modifies programming of robots and related equipment such as robot controllers and programmable controllers.
- Studies production schedules and estimates worker-hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
- Interprets company policies for workers and enforces safety regulations.
- Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Enforces a safe workplace by supervising all tasks performed in accordance with O.S.H.A., E.P.A., F.D.A., Food Safety, Lock-out/Tag-out safety rules, codes policies, and regulations, and Confined Entry policies.
- Contributes to a safe workplace by enforcing and complying with Federal, State, and Company rules and procedures.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Maintains time and production records.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or GED is required; BA/BS degree in Engineering or related field preferred
- 5 years of supervisory experience in a food manufacturing plant environment.
- Must have a very strong industrial electrical knowledge in motor control, VFD, and PLC
- Additional mechanical, welding, refrigeration, and plumbing knowledge preferred.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Windows; MS Word Processing software; MS Excel Spreadsheet software; MS Outlook; Crystal Report Writer; Internet software; MP2 Access 2000.
