Job Summary: Responsible to plan and organize the work of the maintenance staff in order to achieve efficient operation of facility and all equipment. Duties and Responsibilities: Effectively responsible for the supervision of daily facility and preventive maintenance. Plan and assign specific work for mechanics and support personnel. Efficiently prioritize and schedule necessary maintenance equipment and activities based on PM schedule &/or production needs. Monitor and review work of staff to ensure quality and the pursuit of continuous improvement. May be asked to participate in building renovations. Ensuring that project stays within budget and conforms to company expectations. Follow company safety expectations with all equipment and chemicals. Promote and enforce a culture of safe work practices with all employees. Efficiently and effectively utilize AMM/CMS for work orders and preventative maintenance. Work with Quality Assurance to manage maintenance activities to ensure maintenance is following all food and safety programs. Responsible for employee relations including, work direction, hiring, training, performance management and discipline. As needed, plan, schedule and direct external contractors. Including holding them to company safety and GMP policies. Work cross functionally with other departments leaders to implement equipment changes and support needs. Manage department budget. All other duties as assigned. Other Duties and Responsibilities: Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices. Safety Protocol Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures. Correct or report any observed safety hazards. Support safety policies and programs. Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent required. Technical degree or ten years of food production maintenance experience preferred. 2 years of aseptic processing or packaging preferred. Supervisory experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to read, understand, and adhere to documents and procedures (GLP, SOP, SDS, GMP, test procedures, and HACCP). Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in work. Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). Basic computer operational skills; able to input and retrieve computerized information. Ability to follow written, verbal and diagrammatic instructions; complete simple checklists and complete required documentation. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Communicate well both verbally and in writing with managers and colleagues. Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills. Decisions administered soundly and consistently with policies and in compliance with appropriate laws and regulations. Demonstrate functional and technical knowledge, ability to learn new skills quickly, and achieve a high level of accomplishment. Ability to solve problems by adapting knowledge and experience. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment. Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and work to maintain constructive working relationships. Knowledge of products and dairy industry preferred.
