Maintenance Supervisor
We have an opening for a hard-working person to lead our team of Maintenance Technicians at The Housing Authority for LaSalle County.

The right candidate will possess skills in some or all of the following:
Knowledge of:
- Property/ apartment maintenance practices and procedures
- Technical building equipment and the repair and maintenance of building systems
- Workplace safety, lifting and handling procedures
- Principles and practices of basic electrical, plumbing, painting, appliance, heating, cooling and carpentry repairs and grounds maintenance
- Techniques for dealing with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, in person and over the telephone
- Modern office procedures, office equipment and computer applications
Ability to:
- Read building specifications and blue prints
- Motivate and give clear direction and supervision to others
- Be decisive, solve problems and prioritize work issues
- Work independently
- Operate a variety of hand tools
- Analyze and solve conflicts with staff and residents
- Exercise judgment with general policy guidelines
- Understand and carry out oral and written instructions
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Prepare, organize, analyze and maintain maintenance records and files
- Utilize computer and agency specific software applications
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS Any combination of the following experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to be insured for operating HALC owned vehicles and/or provide personal transportation as needed to perform duties.
- Three years experience in staff supervision.
- Three years experience in the maintenance and repair of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry and building systems and equipment, with a broad range of knowledge of the maintenance methods and procedures involved in the repair and upkeep of residential buildings and apartment units and staff supervision.
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent with the attainment of knowledge and skills through the completion of educational or certified programs related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
We are offering Full Time employment, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM with excellent benefits.
On call after hours will be required on a rotational basis.
Applicants will be screened with a background check, drug screen, and driving history report.
A valid Drivers License is required for this position.
