Role Purpose:
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the maintenance department, ensuring that all automated production machinery and facility systems operate efficiently. This role involves leading a team of Maintenance Technicians, coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities, and supporting production goals in a fast-paced beverage manufacturing environment. This position is considered a front-line leader in the brewery.
Scheudle :Sunday – Thursday 10:00pm to 6:30am.
Accountabilities & Impact:
Safety:
- Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted in compliance with all safety regulations and guidelines and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
- Conduct regular safety training sessions and promote a culture of safety awareness among maintenance team members.
- Investigate and report any safety incidents or near misses and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Quality/Food Safety:
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with quality standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) guidelines.
- Support the Quality and Food Safety teams by ensuring that production equipment is maintained in a sanitary condition to prevent contamination.
Maintenance Operations:
- Oversee daily maintenance technician activities, including supporting troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive and corrective maintenance of production equipment such as conveyors, mixers, packaging machines, pumps, and electrical systems (480VAC & 24VDC).
- Ensure quick response and resolution of equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
- Collaborate with production teams to schedule and prioritize maintenance work.
- Develop, implement, and maintain a robust preventive maintenance schedule to ensure the longevity and reliability of equipment.
- Track and analyze equipment performance data to identify areas for improvement and proactively address potential issues.
- Provide technical support and guidance in troubleshooting and repairing equipment, including PLCs, servo motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and safety modules.
- Supervises team execution during critical, complex overhaul or repair activities to ensure positive return of the plant functions.
Team Management:
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Maintenance Team members (Maintenance Tech, Facilities Tech, LGV, Calibrations, and SME’s), providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and job satisfaction.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively to maximize productivity and production efficiency.
- Verifies required work permits, work orders, parts drawings, and other documents and procedures are followed by all assigned team members.
- Assist in shift scheduling and ensure proper staffing to meet production demands. Communicate scheduling changes and adjustments to team members.
- Manage team members time and attendance, including schedules, timecards approval, time-off approval, and adherence to No-Fault Attendance Policy.
- Monitor the performance of the team and hold one-on-one accountability discussions to discuss areas for improvement and set goals for continued development.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify potential issues and address them promptly.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor maintenance parts inventory, ensuring critical spares are available.
- Work with planner/ buyer on ordering and maintaining inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and quality improvement within the maintenance department.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing projects, to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Drive root cause/corrective action ensuring all measurables are achieved consistently.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Packaging, Brewing, Quality, and Supply Chain, to achieve production goals and resolve issues.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure alignment on maintenance schedules aligned with production goals.
Skills & Experiences Needed:
- High School diploma or equivalent. Associates degree, certification or higher within a technical field preferred.
- 5+ years of supervisory / leadership experience in industrial maintenance.
- Experience leading multiple shifts and on call availability (after hours and including weekends).
- Excellent understanding of continuous flow processes and high-speed manufacturing equipment operation, engineering and upkeep.
- Experience using a CMMS system for scheduling and planning maintenance activities.
- Must be proficient in the use of computer and software skills such as MS Office, Power BI, Teams, and email. Excel – intermediate.

Working conditions:
- Fast-paced and constantly changing work environment.
- Subject to extreme temperatures.
- Shift work including days, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends and up to 12 hrs.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand/move 8-12 hours per day.
- Ability to ascend/descend stairs/ladders throughout shift.
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including (but not limited to) bump cap, hearing protection, safety steel toe shoes and safety glasses.
- Must adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
