I.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Technician repairs, adjusts, and maintains equipment daily. This position is Forklift Certified. This position directly impacts customer satisfaction and profitability.
Due to the physical demands of this job, it is essential that correct lifting techniques, proper body mechanics, as well as applicable safe work practices be utilized.
II.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
* Gets work order per assigned area, prioritizing work order from Maintenance Supervisor.
* Troubleshoots and repairs electrical equipment.
* Maintains and repairs all production equipment.
* Troubleshoots production equipment using PLC.
* Edits programs to accommodate new procedures on existing equipment.
* Edits programs to control the edition of conveyors or stacking machinery.
* Changes motors,
* Reads electrical schematics.
* Installs/repairs plumbing.
* Splices conveyor belts.
* Rebuilds gear boxes.
* Performs pneumatic and hydraulic repairs.
* Installs/move machines.
* Repairs hot melt units.
· Completes general electrical and mechanical repair.
· Completes building maintenance repairs.
* Perform all duties of other Maintenance positions as required.
* Complies with American Woodmark policies and procedures, departmental safety, quality, and operational procedures and reports any deviations from the same.
* Performs necessary housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
* Actively participates in process improvements by utilizing American Woodmark quality systems.
* Performs all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
* Follow and support the LOTO program.
III.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education:
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. A working knowledge of department safety, quality and operational procedures, training manuals and company policies and procedures is required. Employees must have a working knowledge of all equipment and processes for repair and maintenance of that equipment.
Experience:
At least 3 years of relevant work experience is required.
Skills:
Ability to evaluate design flaws and implement corrective actions to eliminate chronic problems or excessive downtime in areas of assignment.
Knowledge in robotic/CNC systems with ability to support the electronic interface, mechanical installation, design/fabrication, repair, and maintenance of various brands of secondary automation devices for automated production equipment.
Must have excellent communication skills (verbally and written)
Ability to develop operating and maintenance manuals for a variety of equipment.
Ability to develop preventative maintenance requirements and schedules for equipment.
Ability to read and understand components, machine design electric, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics, and blueprints.
Basic math and engineering skills to support the design or modification of equipment or fixtures as required.

Requires lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling weights up to 50 lbs. – 100 lbs. occasionally. The average weight is 1 lb. – 49 lbs. frequently.
The Maintenance Technician functions at a work pace of occasional to frequent. Critical physical demands are lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing, crawling, trunk turning and twisting.
