SUMMARY: 

(NIGHT SHIFT POSITION. 6a-6:30p 2-2-3 SCHEDULE)

This position has the responsibility to comply with safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce safety as a core value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to food safety & quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability.

The mechanic position is responsible for ensuring the equipment productivity and efficiency through troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and monitoring.

ACITIVITIES: 

1. Assumes personal responsibility to insure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adheres to all safety policies/procedures and incorporates safety and health in all job’s duties/tasks.
2. Adheres to safe work practices, follows GMP’s, maintains sanitary conditions and ensures that product quality is maintained. Reports any conditions or practices that may adversely affect employee safety or food safety/quality to management immediately.
3. Attends and actively participates in safety meetings/trainings.
4. Ensures regulatory compliance at all times.
5. Complete preventative maintenance requirements on all equipment.
6. Monitor efficiency of all equipment and troubleshoot when necessary.
7. Remove or replace defective parts by dismantling and reassembling equipment.
8. Adjust all necessary components of equipment as needed.
9. Repair and adjust all doors as needed.
10. Must adhere to budget, USDA, OSHA, SQF, and FDA compliance guidelines.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:

Examples of licenses, certificates, and registrations required:

1. Power Industrial Truck Operator’s License
2. Black Seal License is a plus.
