Title: Maintenance Technician
Shift: 1st & 3rd Shifts (must work weekends)
Location: Swedesboro, NJ 08085
Target Pay Rate: $32-$37/hr

Overview: Are you a skilled mechanic with a knack for troubleshooting and repairing complex electronic, electric, and pneumatic control systems? We’re seeking a versatile Cross-Functional Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you'll provide technical support and interface with various crafts to repair and install sophisticated control and instrumentation systems.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose, repair, fabricate, and install electronic systems, complex gauges, and instrumentation, including mechanical and electronic interfaces.
- System Maintenance: Troubleshoot, adjust, install, and program electronic, electric, and pneumatic controls and instrumentation for various systems (e.g., boilers, building automation, fire protection, material handling).
- Programming: Program PLC (programmable logic controllers) and/or microprocessor-based systems.
- Calibration: Calibrate instruments with fine tolerances; recalibrate as needed to meet manufacturer's performance specifications.
- Rebuilding: Rebuild instruments when necessary, including sourcing parts and tools.
- Data Communication: Assist with designing and installing data communication systems.
- Record Keeping: Maintain time and material records; prepare work reports per standard operating procedures.
- Inspections & Upgrades: Perform inspections and recommend system upgrades or renovations.
- Communication: Use computer systems for emails and administrative tasks, and communicate via two-way radio/pager for routine and emergency information.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure shop equipment is in good working condition.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Quality & Safety: Uphold product quality, legality, and safety standards; report any contamination or suspicious activity to a Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in instrumentation, measurement, control systems, electronics, electrical, or a mechanical program.
- Associate's degree in Electronics or Process Instrumentation and Control preferred.
- Certification as a journeyman in the instrumentation trade and ISA Certified Control Systems Technician (CSST) Level II may substitute for education requirements.
- Experience in an industrial maintenance environment, preferably in an automated food processing plant.
- Basic knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) preferred.
- Familiarity with equipment setup, functions, operating procedures, and preventative maintenance techniques.
