Overview:

The maintenance technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair and safe operating condition of all plant equipment, building, and grounds. This includes all scheduled preventive and unscheduled demand maintenance and necessary repairs to ensure no downtime or interruption of production.

Basic qualifications:

• Experience with basic electrical systems (starters, fuses, contacts, relays)
• Experience with electrical systems (frequency drive, troubleshooting)
• Experience with product manuals (reading and applying knowledge)
• Experience in reading mechanical drawings (hydraulics, pneumatics)

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Follow all safety processes and procedures to ensure no injuries to self or to others
• Perform any demand maintenance repairs as required or assigned
• Perform all preventive maintenance work as scheduled for all processing equipment
• Maintain and update maintenance records in the HIPPO CMMS (computerized maintenance management system)
• Communicate the need to order supplies and parts to the VP of Operations or General Manager when needed
• Maintain an organized and clean work area
• Operate and manage the equipment maintenance efficiently to assure safe operation and with minimal interruption of production
• Perform other duties as assigned or directed by Management

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to effectively communicate throughout all levels within the company
• Ability to prioritize work schedule and multi-task
• Strong reading, writing, and problem solving skills
• Five years (5) prior maintenance experience
• Industrial experience (If so, certification must be provided)
• Proven mechanical experience
• Welding (If so, certification must be provided)

Plus:

• Prior Maintenance experience in a large food manufacturing operation.

• Experience with mechanical systems (gear boxes, chains, sprockets, motors, seals, bearings)
• Experience with electronics (probes, flow meters, drives-VFD)
• Experience with packaging-high speed production
• Experience with PLC
• Experience with pumps (troubleshooting, replacing seals/motors)
• Experience with SERVO
• Vertical Form & Fill machines such as Hayssen, Bosch or Triangle
• Weight scales such as Yamotto & Ishida

2. Ability to manipulate cutting tools such as knives and mandolins safely and effectively
3. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
4. Must be able to work safely and effectively in confined spaces
5. Ability to operate processing machinery
6. Must be able to stand for long periods of time
7. Must be able to work in 36 degrees' environment for extended periods of time

Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, an associate regularly works on or near moving mechanical apparatus and is regularly exposed to vibration and moderate to high noise levels. The work environment includes congested and high traffic areas, slippery floors, working alongside forklifts, single pallet jacks, electric walk behind jacks and hand carts. Walking and working is done on concrete flooring. Some duties are performed in the warehouse and will require work to be done in varying climates. The shift end-time fluctuates with the employer's daily needs. The associate occasionally works in high and precarious places.

• Night Shift
• Sunday-Friday work week

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 -$35.00 per hour. Compensation based on proven experience.
