Wage: $28.00 - $35.00/hour

QPS Employment Group has a great opportunity available for a Maintenance Technician at a company in Carol Stream, IL. This is a direct hire position for 2nd shift. Apply now!

This position requires at least two years of maintenance experience in a food processing facility!

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair various types of food manufacturing equipment including grinders, mixers, stuffers, slicers, extruders, ovens, wrapping machines, etc.
- Perform daily inspections, emergency repairs and routine adjustments; follow periodic preventive maintenance schedule
- Perform basic electrical repairs and troubleshoot for the following: AC & DC motor controls, solid state motor controls, advance circuits, and grounding, interpret diagrams and test equipment
- Develop preventative maintenance schedule to maintain production equipment in proper working order
- Maintain organized documentation, inspection records, etc.
- Maintain inventory of parts that are required for proper maintenance and/or repairs
- Perform overall mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic repairs on food processing and packing equipment
- Recommend equipment layouts and modifications within production areas
- Recommended equipment needs to improve production improvement and efficiency

Requirements for Maintenance Technician:
- Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred
- At least two years of maintaining equipment in a food processing facility
- 2-5 years of experience with industrial, high-speed processing, packing, weighting, filling and inspection equipment OR minimum two years of technical training
- High School Diploma/GED, some technical school coursework, or mechanical certification (must have at least one of these three items to be considered)
- Familiarity with preventive or reliability-based maintenance
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting
- Ability to use computerized maintenance management system to track work orders, PMs, and inventory
- Ability to read and understand schematics, drawings and manuals to establish facts and draw conclusions
- Ability to demonstrate math skills as part of daily activities such as fractions, decimals, percentages, and the metric system, efficient with ratios, metric system, and formulas
- Ability to push, pull, lift and move 50 pounds
- Effective communication skills
