Job Description:
As a Maintenance Technician on the 3rd shift, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing production equipment, building facilities, and grounds. This includes HVAC systems, boilers, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration systems, blenders, processing, and packaging equipment. The ideal candidate will have worked in food manufacturing & cold environments.
As a Maintenance Technician on the 3rd shift, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing production equipment, building facilities, and grounds. This includes HVAC systems, boilers, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration systems, blenders, processing, and packaging equipment. The ideal candidate will have worked in food manufacturing & cold environments.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensure operation of plant machinery using electrical and mechanical skills to troubleshoot and repair equipment
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance procedures
- Ensure all duties are completed safely, efficiently, and effectively
- Minimize downtime by completing repairs and part replacements promptly
- Fabricate repair parts by machining items as needed
- Provide mechanical maintenance support by informing production workers of routine techniques, answering questions, and responding to requests
- Maintain and update technical knowledge by attending educational workshops
- Keep a safe and clean work environment by adhering to procedures, rules, and regulations
- Contribute to team efforts by performing additional tasks as needed
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3-5 years of related maintenance experience
- Strong mechanical and electrical systems knowledge, including hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, AC drives, VFDs, and PLCs
- Proficient in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
- Valid state driver’s license
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
- Strong communication skills with all levels of staff
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and USDA regulations
- Bilingual skills are a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift over 40 pounds daily
- Tolerance for working in extreme temperatures
- Frequent use of hand and power tools
- Occasional climbing, crouching, kneeling, and crawling to service equipment
