Maintenance Technician - Mary Lee Foundation

About the Job
Responsibilities:
- Inspecting buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any issues.
- Complete make-readies and tossing of apartments as tenants depart
- Repairing faulty equipment units and damaged structures, and performing minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, filling gaps on walls, etc.
- Developing and implementing preventative maintenance procedures.
- Managing and troubleshooting heating and plumbing systems to guarantee functionality.
- Conducting periodic checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard.
- Performing general maintenance tasks including landscaping, painting, and carpentry.
- Maintaining inventory records for equipment and supplies.
- Inspect and basic troubleshooting of control panels, electrical wiring, and installing appliances, fixtures, and shelving
- Drywall and sheet rock repair/installation
- Check functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarm)
- Collaborate with workers and other professionals during renovations
- Report any maintenance issues to the Executive Director
- Adheres to and completes all necessary work pertaining to your department to fulfill the requirements of all policies, procedures, and standards of the Mary Lee Foundation, and applicable outside agencies including but not limited to HHSC, TWC, HUD, and other agencies.
- Serve one scheduled On-Call week/weekend per month, and as needed

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems
- Experience using hand and electrical tools
- Ability to read technical manuals and drawings
- Very good communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical stamina and dexterity
- High school diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements:

Occasional reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, frequent sitting, standing and walking, may be required for long periods of time and may involve climbing stairs, walking up inclines, and on uneven terrain. Additional physical requirements may include, frequent lifting, bending down, and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
Qualifications:
- Clean background check
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of experience with apartment maintenance at the professional level
- Familiar with HHSC, HUD, or TWC standards or willing to learn
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Valid Driver’s License (preferred)
