Perform engineering/maintenance operations of the hotel to ensure the safety and comfort of hotel guests and employees and to ensure compliance with all brand, governmental regulatory requirements. Job Description

- Participate in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget and financial plans. Monitor budget and control expenses with a focus on energy management, preventative maintenance and capital planning.
- Perform hotel renovations and other projects, aids in negotiating contracts and ensuring timely completion of projects within budgets.
- Perform day-to-day engineering requirements, execute preventative maintenance plan.
- Maintain inventory controls for cost effective operations.
- Responsible for 24-hour emergency maintenance.
- Assist in monitoring all work being performed by outsiders.
- Educate and train all members in compliance with governmental and safety regulations.
- Ensure staff is properly trained on quality and service standards and has the tools and equipment and is empowered to carry out job duties in a timely, efficient manner.
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
- Communicate with all hotel department heads to stay informed of maintenance needs and ensure timely responses to requests.
- Respond in a courteous and prompt manner to all guest questions, complaints and/or requests to ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction.
- Carry out preventative maintenance program to ensure facility is maintained and in service for our guests.
- Perform and assist in overseeing the physical operations of the hotel, including maintenance and repair, and order parts and supplies in a timely and efficient manner while minimizing waste and maintaining “green” initiatives.
- May be responsible for hotel security to minimize risk of theft, crime and other hazards.
- Attend monthly department meetings and training sessions as necessary.
- Anything that contributes to a positive culture and the success of the hotel.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
- Some college or advanced vocational training preferred.
- One to two years previous experience in a similar position (i.e. general building maintenance, construction, etc.).
- Basic computer skills required.
- Hotel experience preferred.
- Professional certifications and licenses will be given higher consideration.
- Valid driver license required to operate shuttles as needed.
