Are you a hands-on problem solver with a passion for safety and community service? The Liberty Center YMCA is seeking a part-time Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safety and functionality of our facilities. We have full-time and part-time options available.
A large part of your role is to maintain full compliance with YMCA and OSHA safety policies and practices. This includes ensuring that all equipment, supplies, and materials are used safely and efficiently to minimize replacement costs and prevent accidents or injuries. Your keen attention to detail and commitment to safety will help create a secure environment for our members, staff, and volunteers.
In addition to safety, your primary responsibility will be to complete assigned projects to the satisfaction of the Chief Property Officer. Whether it's repairing electrical systems/fixtures, plumbing systems/fixtures, HVAC systems, or handling basic carpentry tasks, you'll tackle each project with skill and precision. Your ability to work on various systems, including flooring systems and wall/floor finishes like painting, tiles, and carpeting, will be crucial to maintaining our facilities' functionality and appearance.
When it comes to keeping our facility maintained, timeliness is key. You'll be responsible for responding to maintenance requests in a prompt and efficient manner, ensuring that any issues are addressed quickly and effectively. Whether it's fixing a leaky faucet or repairing a malfunctioning HVAC system, your ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner will be essential for keeping our facilities running smoothly.
Additionally, you'll perform routine preventative maintenance to prevent unnecessary repairs and downtime. By staying proactive and addressing potential issues before they escalate, you'll help minimize disruptions to our operations and ensure that our facilities remain in top condition at all times.
Living in South Dakota means dealing with harsh winter weather. As part of your role, you'll be responsible for performing all snow removal duties including shoveling and salt-spreading. Cleanliness is also an important part of this role. This could include tasks such as cleaning common areas, restrooms, and fitness equipment to ensure a clean and sanitary environment for our members and staff.
If you're ready to make a difference in your community and contribute your skills to a dynamic team dedicated to promoting health, wellness, and community spirit, we want to hear from you. Join us at the Liberty Center YMCA and become a valued member of our team. Apply now and take the first step towards a rewarding career in maintenance and facility management.
