We are looking for a Maintenance Technician-Electro Mechanic to support FXI Santa Teresa, NM in the following areas:…. Incoming, process, quarantine, customer service to assurance to reach the company objectives through their experience on mechanical and electrical, installation, maintenance, and repair of production and facility equipment.
Responsibilities:- Observes functioning of installed equipment to detect hazards, problems, and the need for service, repair and/or replacement of electrical, electronic, and mechanical components.
- Discusses equipment performance issues and improvement ideas with pertinent technical staff.
- Maintains a high level of work ethics and safety, in all aspects of electrical and mechanical work that is being completed.
- Repairs, maintains, and installs electrical systems and equipment such as, but not limited to, motors, drives, wiring and associated devices.
- Repairs, maintains, and installs mechanical systems and equipment such as, but not limited to, pumps, gearboxes, piping and associated systems.
- Locates and determines electrical malfunctions using test instruments such as multimeter, and temperature probe.
- Must be able to identify and specify parts required for repair and/or rebuilding of manufacturing equipment.
- Participates in new installations and modifications to existing equipment to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous and unreliable performance of equipment.
- Prepares sketches proposing layout/location modifications and installations, all of which are in compliance with OEM, OSHA, NEC, company, and local codes where applicable.
- Documented ability to weld using stick type welder on applicable materials such as steel, pipe and structural type.
- Able to fabricate fixtures, stands, covers, and assemblies from provided drawings.
- Employee is required to keep work area neat, clean, and free from hazards.
- Must be able to obtain forklift and aerial lift platform licenses.
- Must be able and willing to assume other responsibilities, within reason and with proper instruction, deemed necessary to meet optimum labor utilization
- Must be able to read, write, and comprehend the English language (i.e., the language of all plant directives) for required document control, equipment operation, and supervisor/peer instructions.
- Understand mathematics, handbook formulas, NEC codebook, and other sources of technical information.
- Must be capable of interfacing with other departments/personnel for the purpose of developing and/or supplying information to ascertain and achieve processing requirements.
- Understanding of Preventive Maintenance programs is a must.
- Documented ability to weld using stick welder on applicable materials such as steel, pipe and structural type is a plus.
- Ability to machine/repair parts using a milling machine, lathe, surface grinder, drill press, etc.
- Able to fabricate fixtures, stands, covers, and assemblies from provided drawings.
- Working knowledge of Parker, Allen Bradley, and Siemens AC variable frequency drives, PLCs and associated protocols is a plus.
- Must have computer skills, including the capability to use email, compile reports and spreadsheets for parts and project tracking.
- Must read and identify components depicted on electrical and electronic prints.
- Must have a complete set of hand and measuring tools to perform the job function.
- Employee is responsible for their own work and must exercise care and compliance of all established safety procedures.
- Employee must be willing to be on call to support production needs as well.
- Must be able to work on aerial lift platforms up to 80 feet on a limited basis, 30 feet on average.
- Must be able to handle physical heavy lifting of materials/tools up to 75 pounds. Heavier materials may require assistance.

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:
- Technical School
- Electrical License in NM and TX state
- 5 years’ experience making electromechanical repairs and installations in an industrial or plant setting
- Welding, Electronic, Electrical Classes and PLC Training
- Experience reading electrical drawings
- Understanding of electrical codes, standards, and regulations
- Ability to work off-shift including Saturday and Sundays
- Forklift/Aerial Lift License
