The role
We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Technician to join the team in Fairfield, CA. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager. This is an exciting time to join the Maintenance team of the Fairfield, CA manufacturing facility Our manufacturing facility is within IPL’s Returnable & Environmental (R&E) business unit in the United States.
We are in search of an experienced, motivated, and driven Maintenance Technician who can collaborate with team members, as well as work independently. The ideal candidate is one who has industrial mechanic skills, is self-motivated, experienced with stick and/or Mig Welding (certificate preferred), can troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic controls 120v and 24v, and is experienced with hand tools, oxygen acetylene torch, metal circular saw, and multi meter.
The successful candidate will:
- Performs preventative maintenance.
- Will respond to daily priorities within the maintenance department.
- Identifies potential equipment problems and corrects them.
- Maintains the equipment in a manner so as not to impede the production process.
- Prepares plant equipment and facilities for production.
- Responds to equipment failures or facilities problems in a timely and professional manner.
- Informs manager or lead when critical replacement parts are used from inventory.
- Troubleshoots equipment and recommends corrective action.
- Identifies equipment problems in a timely and accurate manner.
- Implements contingency plans for keeping production running.
- Maintains work areas to keep them free of trip hazards and other safety issues.
- Ensures tools and auxiliary equipment are returned to their proper place after a job or project is completed or after a Mold change is complete.
- Cleans the machinery as necessary.
- Complies with safety standards.
- Lock out/tag out procedures are always followed.
- OSHA safety standards are always complied with.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you will bring to the role:
- Associate degree in Maintenance Technician or related desired. (Related work experience can be substituted for educational requirement.)
- 5+ years of experience in the injection Mold design and processing, preferably in the plastics industry.
- Ability to work with a variety of outside contractors.
- Experience as a Maintenance Technician in the plastics industry preferred.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.

- Injection Mold is a plus.
