Summary:
Boulder Medical Center (BMC) is seeking general maintenance and handyman candidates to join our Facilities team! This position is benefit eligible working 40 hours per week Monday-Friday and occasionally on call. There is also an option to work on a PRN base as needed most likely working after hours, weekends and covering vacation requests.

Job Duties:
- Installs, repairs or replaces the following in accordance with industry/trade standards:
- Minor Electrical
- Minor Plumbing
- Minor Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning
- Drywall and Finishing
- Painting
- Finish Carpentry
- Carpets and Flooring
- Drop Ceiling Tiles
- Finishes and Details
- Office Furniture
- Medical Equipment
- Irrigation Systems
- Performs scheduled preventive maintenance on all building emergency and environmental systems. Records all usual and unusual operations of that equipment in maintenance records. Detects and initiates corrective maintenance as needed.
- Maintains grounds and parking lots to ensure a safe environment and a uniformly neat and clean appearance. Keeps landscaping healthy and visually appealing. Keeps sidewalks and driveways free of snow, ice, and other hazards.
- Responds to repair requests in a timely fashion, completing assigned work orders within two working days, if at all possible (ASAPs are responded to immediately).
- Minimizes waste in all areas of work by preplanning, pooling resources, coordinating materials procurement with co-workers, and minimizing interruptions.
- Performs on call duties at all BMC sites as assigned.

Required Experience:
- Demonstrated knowledge of commercial building maintenance, mechanical systems and local building codes and regulations.
- Understanding of quality improvement processes for maintenance operations preferably in a healthcare or clean room environment.
- Computer literate with demonstrated working knowledge of programs such as MS Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Working knowledge of computer-based door access systems and building automated systems, a plus
- Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as documentation and organizational skills.
- Must demonstrate initiative in establishing priorities and working with little supervision.
- Must maintain a high level of precision in judgment and accuracy of assessment in diverse maintenance situations.
- Requires strong problem-solving skills.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical or specialized training in the maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, equipment, and plant facilities, a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum 1 -3 years of experience performing semi-skilled maintenance work in the areas of carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and HVAC.
- Previous healthcare construction or maintenance experience, highly desired.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to respond to after hours and weekend emergency calls to all sites
The starting hourly pay range for this position is commensurate with experience:
- $22.21 - $28.00/hour (full pay range $22.21 - $33.32)
This position will be posted for Three (3) days and subsequently until filled.
