Maintenance Technician I** - Brunswick

This maintenance position is an opportunity for a highly motivated person who can drive manufacturing performance through the maintenance of hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. The position will report within the Lowell, MI facility on the second shift as a Maintenance Technician.
Primary Responsibilities: _Majority of duties performed, but not meant to be all-inclusive or to prevent other duties from being assigned._
+ Repair and maintenance of manufacturing equipment including hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
+ Upgrade and maintain equipment safety guards and other necessary safety devices
+ Repair and maintain aluminum, steel, and stainless steel welding systems
+ Coordination of controls work with approved vendors as needed
+ Drive continuous improvements through troubleshooting and analysis of equipment and processes
+ Performing preventive maintenance as part of Attwood’s Total Preventive Maintenance program
+ Participate in product launches, including fixture and cell design consultation
+ Alter, poke-yoke, and repair equipment/fixtures for manufacturing and distribution operations when needed
+ Report regularly on the status of open projects
+ Help Maintenance Facilities Technicians when needed
+ Maintain inventory through the CMMS System
+ Work cross-functionally between teams
+ Assist Maintenance Tech II and Tech III during downtime of production
Job Specifications: _Knowledge, skills, and abilities normally required for competent performance in the job._
Required Qualifications:
+ High School Diploma or GED required. GRCC's "Industrial Maintenance Certificate" or equivalent is preferred.
+ Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required, including evenings and weekends
+ Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
+ Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
+ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
+ Ability to climb ladders, lift heavy equipment, and/or move objects up to 50 lbs.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Must be NFPA 70E qualified in Standard Electrical Safety in the Workplace (or scheduled for upcoming training)
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Previous experience in operations/maintenance environment
+ Prior electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems work experience or combination of education and training preferred
+ Experience with and commitment to lockout/tagout, confined space, elevated surfaces, hot work permits, and other industrial maintenance safety programs
+ Prior hi-lo experience is preferred
+ MIG and TIG welding preferred
+ Experience with MS Office and Excel preferred
+ PLC and HMI programming proficiency is a preferred
+ Background in Lean Manufacturing is preferred
Travel Requirements: _Indicate travel required for the position_
+ Once a year for Training when needed
