Prairie AquaTech Manufacturing, LLC dba Houdek is a manufacturing company based in Volga South Dakota that is improving animal health and nutrition by providing high-quality feed ingredients. Using patent-pending technologies licensed on a worldwide, exclusive basis from South Dakota State University and developed internally, the Company is upgrading soybean meal to high-quality ingredients used in aquaculture and other animal feeds.
JOB DUTIES
The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for the safe and efficient repair, preventative maintenance, and cleaning of all equipment associated with plant processes. Team members in this position will also perform maintenance tasks on all plant equipment. Maintenance Technicians are accountable for communicating any issues to the management team. Maintenance Technicians II should be knowledgeable of process flow, and computerized equipment and have an awareness of hazards associated with the process as well as display an understanding and ability to execute standard operating procedures (SOPs). As team members grow in their skill and experience levels, they are expected to become proficient in all maintenance functions at the Houdek facility and be capable of training other team members in all areas. Continuous plant operation will require the Maintenance Technician to meet call-in requirements as needed.

- Design equipment maintenance strategies, procedures, and methods
- Responsible for the continuous running of equipment and machinery; and troubleshooting any equipment issues.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot any breakdown problems.
- Continuously seek improvement opportunities and provide valuable input and recommendations to enhance operations.
- Develop and maintain an accurate bench stock and spare parts inventory.
- Anticipate, predict, record, and report production maintenance issues.
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities, keeping them in top-notch condition.
- Maintain an up-to-date and computerized preventative maintenance system, ensuring efficient workflow.
- Monitor and control maintenance costs.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- 2-3 years experience in a maintenance field
- Completion of mechanical, electrical, or electrical technical school training preferred.
- Strong technical and troubleshooting abilities.
- Welding Knowledge is a plus
- Experience in mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, and equipment maintenance
- Experience with the repair of electronics or instrumentation
- Fabrication experience desirable
- Read and understand P&IDs and schematics.
- Capable of operating scissor lift, JLG lift, and forklift.
- Ability to work at all heights.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts or industy conditions,high-noise environments, and outside weather in all conditions.
