Candyco is a growing candy manufacturing company. We are currently seeking a shift production maintenance technician to join our team! We are looking for someone with lots of experience in machine repair and troubleshooting. You will be working with production to help minimize downtime and improve production efficiencies.
Job purpose
The Maintenance Tech Level-II is responsible for conducting assigned PMs and servicing all equipment calls on the production floor. This includes repairs on the spot and/or repairs that require a WO. This position is responsible for being in compliance with all employee safely, food safety, facility audits, and GMP requirements at all times.
Duties and responsibilities
-Performs regular maintenance service/duties (PMs) as scheduled by the Maint. Manager
-Maintains manufacturing assets and facility as assigned (lube, monitoring, filter checks)
-Supports training and continuous development for personnel
-Report outs during shift and end of day, on maintenance work accomplished
-Follows all food safety guidelines and protocols while servicing equipment
-Model the Company's Safety Culture and always strive for 100% Safety compliance
-Must be willing to work a flexible schedule: other shifts, weekends, holidays as required
Qualifications
-Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a Maintenance tech position and activities
-Must be able to read English and follow equipment manual instructions
-Must possess knowledge of a specific skill set: HVAC, Electrical, Machining, welding, etc.
-Must be able to perform diagnostics on controls & settings, measuring tools, internal & external machine diagnostics, perform replacement of components (pumps, bearings, controls, valves, etc.), able to order spare parts as needed
Prior experience in the Food Industry, a plus
-OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Outreach Training, preferred (not required)
Experience
-Excellent communication skills, and respectful of others
-Organized, detail orientated, and a can-do, hands-on work ethic
-Proficient computer skills with EXCEL, WORD; CAD a plus
-Excellent technical knowledge of equipment, products, and processes
-Strong knowledge in Maintenance & Reliability
-Self-motivated, results orientated, and excellent personal skills
-Ability to perform Tech Level-I tasks
-Knowledge in utilizing a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) a plus
-Strong background in HACCP, Safety, GMPs, and regulatory Food Safety Audits
Working conditions
-Must be able to work any hours/days, including Holidays and/or weekends
Physical requirements
-A non-slip resistant work shoe: steel toe when job requires
-Pre-shift stretch and exercises to be performed
-Hair restraint, beard net (if needed), and Safety gloves as needed
-All required PPEs are worn properly when working with equipment or chemicals that require personal protection
-Position requires the ability to: stand, sit at a desk, walking around the facility, lifting and carrying equipment parts (up t0 50-LBS unassisted), utilizing fine dexterity, reaching, kneeling, crawling, and twisting to inspect equipment
