Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Shift: 2-2-3 shift 6:00 pm - 6:00 am positions.
Starting pay: $29.58 per hour + $1.50 differential
Location: Manawa, WI
SUMMARY
The Maintenance Mechanic Level 1 is responsible for installing and repairing equipment. This position requires a hands-on approach to ensure the efficient operation of machinery and equipment, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safety Compliance:
- Follow and enforce all safety policies and practices.
- Provide training and communication on safety-related work orders.
- Mechanical Troubleshooting:
- Possess basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and fix equipment in assigned functional areas.
- Operate and adjust equipment as needed.
- Repair and Replacement:
- Proficient in repairing or replacing defective parts using OE or comparable components.
- Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
- Movement of Functional Parts:
- Move special functional and structural parts in devices and equipment (e.g., setting up a printer on a filler, vacuum chamber testing for cups).
- Line Start-Up:
- Be an active member of line start-up processes as needed.
- Attend meetings for line, TPM, and Bay.
- Lubrication and Cleaning:
- Identify and follow proper safe cleaning procedures for parts and machinery (e.g., solvents, air, rags).
- Knowledgeable in proper greasing and oiling methods, including the correct types of grease and oil for specific equipment.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Demonstrated knowledge in one or more of the following: Electrical, Electronics, Machining, Welding, Fabricating.
- Knowledge and ability to use SAP, including writing work orders, looking up work orders, finding parts, and writing requisitions to order parts.
- Electrical Skills:
- Ability to work in 110, 220, and 480 volts, run communication and electrical wiring, and repair electrical equipment.
- Certified in Electrical Safety Training, Lockout/Tagout, and live work procedures.
- Capable of reading electrical prints and troubleshooting and repairing circuits, motors, and control circuits.
- Work Area Maintenance:
- Maintain the maintenance work area according to BRC & AIB standards and follow product safety and sanitation regulations
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously.
- Operate various types of lifts, including forklifts, clamps, tow motors, hand lifts, Raymond’s/Crown’s, and scissor lifts.
- Work independently while maintaining professionalism in daily interactions with internal and external customers.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and skills.
- Experience in troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to safety.
