Objective:
To perform skilled mechanical maintenance duties inth e inspection, repair, installation and alteration of air conditions and refrigeration systems and related equipment and facilities; perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing of equipment. A Preventive Maintenance technician will also provide superior customer service to the employees and guests of Na Hoaloha Ekolu Dba Old Lahaina Luau, Aloha Mixed Plate, Star Noodle, Leoda's Kitchen and Pie Shop, Startruck, Hale Aloha, Plantation House.
Duties and Responsibilities: (Any one position may not include all the listed duties, nor do all of the listed examples include all tasks which may be found in the position)
• Inspect, repair modify and install HVAC equipment including refrigeration and air conditioning compressors, receivers, condensers, chillers, water cooling towers, pumps, automatic and hand valves, expansion valves and capillary tubes
• Conduct regular preventive maintenance inspections of refrigeration units, isolated heating and ventilating units, including boilers, gas and electrically operated air conditioning equipment, and make necessary adjustments or repairs; service and repair evaporative coolers
• Repair or replace defective parts in units and equipment and their controls, including thermostats, automatic switches, fan controls, filters, controls, belts, compressors, high limit controls, pressure controls, safety valves
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools, welder torch, vacuum pump, test equipment utilized in the trade.
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing of commercial kitchen equipment
• Installs, conducts technical diagnostics and performs specialized repairs on a wide variety of commercial/industrial grade food service appliances
• Maintains electrical and pneumatic controls, thermostats, heating elements and plumbing and mechanical systems for commercial restaurant equipment
• Knowledge of replacing components such as circuit boards, igniters, digital controls and alarms
• General knowledge of electrical

• General knowledge of installing gas commercial kitchen equipment
• Maintain equipment in effective and safe working condition
• Ensures compliance with applicable laws regarding refrigerant recycling and maintains required Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) documentation
• Maintain preventive maintenance program
• Maintains inventory and determines stock levels
• Estimates repair cost and recommends replacements of damaged appliances and equipment
• Be able to lift at 50 pounds and bend when necessary
• Be exposed to different weather elements
• Basic computer skills (email, work orders, daily reporting etc.)
• Understands and follows oral and written directions
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Must attend all mandatory meetings
• Be able to recognize and address safety hazards immediately
• Be able to handle a fast changing environment and works well under pressure
• Displays a positive attitude and appreciates each team members contributions and values each individual member
Required Training
• EPA Refrigeration Certification
• Two years of documentable HVAC journeyman level operation, maintenance and repair experience in the HVAC and refrigeration trade
• OSHA (HAZ COM Program, Blood Bourne Pathogens, CPR & First Aid etc
