Maintenance Technician Part Time
Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician performs general maintenance tasks and repairs to the Kiwanis Foundation building including tenant spaces. This position reports to the Facilities Manager and works closely with the Facilities Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist the Facilities Team in routine maintenance, repairs, and improvements of building spaces, utilities, equipment, vehicles, and grounds
- Routine janitorial and housekeeping tasks for day to day building use
- Assists with maintaining facility security systems
- Assists with movement of materials within the Kiwanis Center when needed
- Assists with setting up and breaking down needed materials and spaces for events
- Assists in closing procedures, and opening when facility opens to the public Fri/Sat
- Assists with tending to maintenance needs of building tenants
- Provide coverage during operating hours in case of manager/co-worker unavailability
- Relate to volunteers, organization participants, staff in a friendly, courteous manner
- Performs other tasks as assigned by the Facilities Manager
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Basic understanding of utility systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC
- Basic understanding of commercial/residential construction applications and materials: interior and exterior, wall systems, flooring, doors and locks, windows, concrete, ceilings, lighting, fixtures, landscaping, etc.
- Comprehensive experience with hand and power tools and safe use practices
- Ability to comprehend design plans and translate to constructive process
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds, with an emphasis on safe form and procedure
- Ability to safely climb and work on ladders, scaffolding
- Ability to safely drive and load materials in various vehicle types as needed
- Ability to perform physical tasks and sustain work effort
- Ability to stand and be moving on foot for majority of the day
- Ability to work well with others, attentive to the safety of self and others in a workspace
- Ability to independently coordinate tasks and available resources to achieve objectives
- Ability to work outside, in all weather conditions when needed
- Possess good verbal, written and internet communication skills
- Possess attention to detail, with an emphasis on good workmanship and full completion of a given task.
- Ability to work weekdays and occasional Saturdays as needed, variable hours
Schedule: Twenty hours per week, with the ability to work flexible days. Part-time
Typical work week: Three days, 8am-3pm
Compensation: $21 - $24 hour starting rate range based on qualifications and experience
