Burlington Capital Properties is a nationally recognized property management company currently managing over 10,000 units across the country. We are currently reviewing applications to be considered for a Maintenance Technician position at our Oakland Village Apartments located in Richmond, Virginia. We pride ourselves in the quality living experience we provide to our residents and are considering individuals with demonstrated abilities in the areas of maintenance, repairs and customer service.
This is an on-site, full-time position, Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
A rotation schedule is in place for the on-call maintenance and is a required component of this role.

Essential job functions include:
- Perform maintenance and repair work as directed to maintain apartments, common areas, buildings and grounds according to established procedures.
- Perform standard apartment maintenance which could include painting, cleaning carpets and appliance repair.
- Troubleshoot, perform and/or assist in maintenance and repairs related to plumbing, heating, air conditioning, electrical, roofs, and carpentry.
- Regularly communicate with supervisor as to status of service requests, make ready units, etc.
- Assist in other duties as requested by management.
- Control expenses to meet budgeted guidelines.
- Provide excellent customer service at all times.
- Participate in all resident promotions and/or functions as required by the property manager.
- Follow all safety and liability guidelines as directed.
- Required to be “on call” for emergency maintenance after hours as directed by management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must possess adequate working knowledge of a property’s significant maintenance needs such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry etc.
- HVAC certificaiton is required.
- Trade school or associate’s degree in related field a plus.
- High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
- Ability to follow directives and work with minimum supervision.
- Must understand the English language and be able to communicate effectively.
- Ability to interact positively with residents, employees, vendors and the general public.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record is required.
- Must be able bend, stoop, sit, stand, walk, climb stairs & ladder, to reach, lift, pull, push and lift or carry weight up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to exercise schedule flexibility to accomplish set goals.
