Gpac is partnered with a family-owned food processing company looking to hire Maintenance Techs. The company is looking to expand and will need experienced techs to aid in preforming routine maintenance and preventative repair services for all equipment at the facility. Responsibilities:
- Perform pre-operational inspections of equipment prior to use
- Diagnose and repair Mechanical Failures
- Repair and replace equipment as needed or as scheduled by your supervisor
- Conduct regularly scheduled preventative maintenance service on machines and equipment assigned to you by your supervisor.
- Respond to calls for assistance with unplanned machine breakdowns from department supervisors
- Perform any and all other duties that might be assigned by your Supervisor
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Mechanical knowledge of how equipment works.
- Electrical knowledge of single and three phase power
- Basic computer and tablet skills are a must
- 2-5 years experience in a food manufacturing facility is strongly recommended
Education/Experience:
- Education and/or experience in mechanical work is preferred
- Experience with large ammonia refrigeration systems would be a plus
Physical Demands:
Must be able to walk frequently, bend, move and work in awkward positions. Employee must be able to lift 50 lbs. and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Employee Technicians must be able to lift and move heavy equipment ranging in weight from 100 to 1,000 lbs. with equipment assist. will be required to use a tablet, use hands and arms, climb/balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
The work environment consists of a variety of conditions including variations in temperature from freezers at -20F to Hot rooms and Dryers up to +145F. Some areas of the plant are very wet from condensation or water use. Some work may need to be performed outside where the environment changes constantly. A majority of the work is performed independently, but some will be done as part of a team. The difficulty of the function will determine how it will be performed.
