We serve as a flex plant and are able to produce everything from a whole pasteurized egg to liquid, dried, hardboiled and curds. As a Maintenance Tech, you play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of our plant. Your responsibilities include conducting all mechanical repairs on plant equipment, addressing minor electrical repairs, and completing preventive maintenance tasks. Proficiency in reading blueprints and wiring schematics, along with the adept use of hand and power tools, are key aspects of this role. If you thrive on continuous improvement, teamwork, and the opportunity to contribute to a workplace that analyzes failures and celebrates achievements, join us on this journey where your skills make a lasting impact.* POSITION SUMMARY: Michael Foods Maintenance Technicians are responsible for the completion of all Preventative and Predictive Maintenance, all corrective mechanical repairs on plant equipment, as well as minor electrical repairs as needed. What you will be working on: Conduct all mechanical repairs on plant equipment to ensure optimal functionality. Address minor electrical repairs as needed to maintain a safe and efficient working environment. Perform preventive maintenance (PM) work on equipment to prevent breakdowns and enhance longevity. Work around power transmissions to support equipment functionality. Possess knowledge and understanding of machine foundations, ensuring their proper construction and function. Work with the three types of coupling bushings, capable of both installation and removal. Understand types of v-belts and implement preventive maintenance steps for v-belt drive systems. Works with hydraulic systems. Understand hydraulic DCV on the plant floor. Explain hydraulic flow and its measurement units, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding. Identify the three types of positive displacement of hydraulic pumps and their functions. Adhere to safe work practices, following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and maintaining sanitary conditions to ensure product quality. Report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality, or personnel safety to management. Assume personal responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone, adhering to all safety policies and procedures. Ensure regulatory compliance at all times. Perform any other duties as assigned to contribute to the overall efficiency of maintenance operations. #firstinpeople Qualifications PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent 1+ Years of Maintenance Technician Experience (Preferred) Good communication skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Able to write simple correspondence. Strong Team player who thrives when working independently Must be able to work safely with chemicals. Must be able to obtain LOTO, Confined Space, Respiratory training. Ability to read blueprints and simple wiring schematics. Able to use hand and power tools correctly. Able to work weekends, holidays and overtime as needed. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Capable of safely lifting 75 lbs. on occasion. Ability to work in hot, cold, wet, noisy, dusty and humid environments.
