Breast Health Center Mammography Tech
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
- Works closely with all Mammography personnel including the Mammography Supervisor, Administrative Director, and Radiologists to perform technical procedures in Breast Health Center.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Registered Radiographer with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, or registry eligible, with Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology preferred.
- Current licensure to practice professional radiographer in Louisiana.
- CPR certification.
- Must maintain required hours of inservice per year to meet requirements for CEU’s as stipulated by the AART.
- Ability to communicate with patient, family, peers and medical personnel.
- Basic Math Skills
- Requires emotional stability and resilience.
- Must be adaptable to change, be decisive, and demonstrate foresight.
- Exhibits organizational and leadership ability. Shows ability to gain and maintain support and respect.

- Ability to adjust routine to accommodate patient or department without affecting departmental flow; perform moderately difficult manipulative skills and hand-eye coordination skills.
- Ability to operate various types of mammography equipment and to utilize the hospital computer system and in an efficient and proper manner.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
- Work requires a variety of physical activities including standing and walking for long periods of time, bending, stooping and lifting.
- The work environment may be physically confining.
- Must be able to exchange accurate information with patients, family, peers and medical personnel.
