About the Job
Position Summary:
Mammography Technologist will perform screening and diagnostic mammographic procedures as well as bone densitometry and may also encompass the responsibilities of a Radiography Technologist; will work under the supervision of the modality supervisory technologist and modality medical director. Technologist will: - Perform all technical procedures within the respective modality sections as described in the Radiology Policy Manual. - Meet the technical competency requirements for the position. - Maintain an effective working relationship with all staff. - Participate in professional education programs, patient/staff safety initiatives, and quality assurance/ improvement activities.
Required Knowledge & Skills:
Current BLS certification; and Current Massachusetts DPH Radiologic Technologist Radiography (Full/General) license; and Current Massachusetts DPH Radiologic Technologist Mammography license; and Current ARRT registered certification in Radiography with RT(R) designation; and Current ARRT registered certification in Mammography with RT(M) designation
In addition to the above, the following skills are required for all technologist positions:
- Ability to use computers
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English
- Ability to hear and respond to staff and patient needs
- Ability to physically position patients
- Ability to manipulate imaging equipment
Education: Documented training and experience in radiography; Documented training and experience in mammography
Experience: Documented training and experience in radiography; Documented training and experience in mammography

Software/Hardware: Imaging acquisition, processing, reviewing, sending, and retrieving equipment (hardware and software); Hospital information system equipment (hardware and software); Communication equipment (e.g., fax, telephone, email, etc)
