Location: Glen Ellyn, Variable Locations.
Hours: Full-Time. 40 hours per week. Monday-Friday; variable 8 hour shifts between 7:30am-7pm. Every fourth Saturday required.
Under the supervision of the Manager and Breast Radiologist, a successful applicant will utilize independent judgment and demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of breast procedures, anatomy, and physiology. Be responsible for the variety of breast imaging examinations for the purpose of assisting in a patient’s medical diagnosis or screening for cancer

Responsibilities:
Patient Care & Imaging
• Perform mammography procedures in a technically proficient manner. Follow department protocols and specific radiologist direction.
• Corroborate patient’s clinical history with procedure; assuring information is documented in accordance with the department’s standards.
• Prepare patient for procedures; providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation and minimize anxiety.
• Select and operate breast imaging equipment and associated devices to achieve desired results.
• Position patient and equipment to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest. Explain the need for breast compression while respecting the patient’s ability and comfort.
• Apply principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others.
• Experience with stereotactic biopsies and/or willing to be trained to assist with this procedure
Department Support
• Participates in staff meetings with employee involvement
• Maintains positive work relationships with co-workers, physicians, and other health care team members
• Maintains an orderly and clean work area to promote good safety habits for patients and co-workers
• Maintains confidentiality with others regarding patient and organizational information
• Maintenance of supplies needed to ensure adequate levels within the department.
Qualifications:
- Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) with advanced certification in Mammography is required.
- Active ARRT certification status maintained by fulfilling continuing education requirements.
- Illinois State Licensure (IEMA)
- CPR Certification
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program
- Mammography experience preferred but not required
- Stereotactic biopsy experience a plus
