About the Job
The Mammography Technologist is responsible for working directly with patients and assisting radiologist while administering ionizing radiation in the course of mammography procedures. This professionally trained person will be responsible for the operation of the mammography system, Technologist Workstation, Secureview, CAD, MRS, Paragon, Digitizer, PAC’s and Bone Densitometer system. This position is responsible for providing patient care and patient safety as established by department standards. This position is responsible for performing a variety of basic secretarial, clerical and housekeeping functions such as customer service, examination and work area cleaning, telephone communications, computer system data entry, information retrieval, MQSA and ACR standards, maintaining supplies, infection control and providing education and support services for our patients. This position in addition to superb technical skills will also require the ability to follow the CRMC service commitments to customers and fellow staff. Other duties as assigned.
Education: Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology. Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and be certified in Mammography or eligible to sit for the examination. Must also acquire Bone Density Registry from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists within year of hire, or 18 months after successful completion of Mammography Registry.
Each employee is responsible for acquiring his or her own continuing education credits to stay in good standing with the governing bodies; American College of Radiology (ACR) and Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA). Experience: One year of experience as a Mammographer, is preferred. Must have working knowledge of ACR positioning skills and quality assurance standards. Must have ability and knowledge to adapt to various mammography modalities. Must be capable of excellent customer service in line with the Vision Statement of CRMC.
