Summary
The Mammography Technologist performs diagnostic and therapeutic mammographic procedures in hospital, clinic or mobile van sites, according to established protocols to assist the referring physician in diagnosis and treatment. The Mammography Technologist operates digital mammography equipment and performs procedures by positioning patients, preparing contrast medias, and selecting the correct exposure factors utilizing the assessment of patient age, pathology and diagnosis to produce technically accurate digital and or analog images to assist the radiologist in diagnosis. This will include x-ray and mammography with the opportunity to train in DEXA, stereotactic/needle localization procedures and Contrast Enhanced Mammography.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved Radiography program.
- CT State Radiographer's License required.
- ARRT (R) required - ARRT (M) preferred
- Current xray and mammography experience highly preferred.
- Acute care experience and experience with invasive procedures is very highly preferred.
